Instagram is a great tool. You get to see cool stuff and updates from people, places, and things that you might have never seen. It’s also a great tool for promoting your business or in this case…haunt (or at least something that’s haunt-ish). I really don’t know what it is….more on that below.
About a week ago, I started getting followed by “whatwelearnedhere” on Instagram. Like everyone else, I got excited to see the little orange pop up indicating I had a new follower. I went to check out their profile and I saw about 5 black and white images that looked like inspirational posters, except they all were related to fear and being afraid.
I read the profile description, which reads “Screenshot Productions Presenting “Fear is What We Learned Here” an immersive experience through the deepest fears of the human psyche. This Fall. LA County. More info soon.”
A new haunt/scary immersive piece?!?! YES! This sounded right up my alley and was excited to see what they were up to. The thing is, just about everyone else I know who were into haunts were also being followed by them. Surely someone would have more information on who or what is behind this right? Wrong! No one knows anything (or if they did, they didn’t spill the beans). So Los Angeles is getting a new immersive piece that seems to be along the lines of Blackout and Alone, from people we do not know yet. As sketchy as this would sound to a normal person, I’m embracing the hell out of it!
I was already excited and then I started getting private messages from them (and my friends got the same). Little did I know, these private images being sent to us were clues. The text along with the last clue was “Contact us to experience the dream”. Contact you? How? Reply to your message? No, it can’t be that easy. Then…it clicked and in a moment of “I see what you did there”, I smiled and confirmed my invitation. I love when events have puzzles that make you “earn” your way in.
I’ve gotten one private message from them since then and I hope they keep coming. I’m looking forward to see what this is all about! If you’d like to experience the dream yourself, try following “whatwelearnedhere” on Instagram.
